WASEIA is asking all of us to Stand Up for Solar: Emphasizing the benefits of rooftop solar energy in Washington, including affordability, resilience, reliability, independence, flexibility, and equity. It outlines a three-step plan to promote solar energy adoption:
Modernize Net Metering: This involves updating billing structures to ensure fair compensation for excess solar energy, benefiting system owners.
Enable Community Solar: Advocating for shared solar projects that benefit multiple customers, expanding access beyond just homeowners with net metering.
Advocacy Efforts: Asking for legislative support to expand net metering, involve stakeholders in compensation plans, and enact state-wide community solar legislation.
